Group Exercise Instruction

Our very popular Group Exercise Instruction classes can be broken down into three main programs:

  1. Cardiovascular Conditioning classes, such as Boot Camps, Power Circuits, Kickboxing, Zumba, Hooping, Muay Thai, Tabata, Spin, Boxing Rounds, and Metabolic Strength Classes
  2. Strength and Muscle Conditioning classes, such as Body Tone, Strong Bodies, Core Strength, Muscular Strength, Kettle bells, and P.A.S. (Pecs, Arms, Shoulders).
  3. Mind/Body classes, such as Yoga, Pilates, Stretch and Flexibility, and Fusion.

Our Coordinators are fully certified and experienced in delivery of group exercise classes and fitness training. Anywhere from three to eight programs can be offered daily in the mornings and evenings, ranging from 20 minute energize and rejuvenate programs to full 60 or 90 minute classes. All programs developed and offered will be result of ongoing resident/user feedback, Camp input, and RecNAction ideas. Coordinators will be on hand to answer fitness and strength training related questions, share their knowledge regarding fitness programs and make training recommendations to interested guests. Coordinators will provide direction on proper use of equipment, and will manage daily cleanliness of equipment.

Toolbox Stretch- Rec Coordinators lead short group stretch sessions at Toolbox Safety meetings on site each day. This can vary between morning or evening meetings, as well as various site locations.

Assist in Injury Rehabilitation

Having Personal Trainers onsite and available daily can provide a host of benefits for all residents, specifically those who have sustained injuries or who have individual programs recommended to them by their physician or other health professional. Personal Trainers will not diagnose or treat conditions, however they will assist by working with guests on their prescribed program, and ensuring exercises are performed properly and correctly.

Stress Management

Coordinators spend time educating guests on signs and symptoms of stress, how to recognize it, and what it could lead to if ignored. They also provide information on how to manage and/or minimize the stress itself and its effects through healthy habits- the gym and our programs being the core focus of dealing with stress in a positive manner.

We currently offer clients a choice mind/body programs to participate in. Yoga and stretch and flexibility classes have been ongoing and popular on site since the RecNAction Team started . These relaxing, no impact classes are a great way for clients to relieve stress, clear their minds, and focus simply on relaxation and breathing.

Core Training Reduces Work Injuries

Core refers to the anatomic center of our bodies. These ‘core’ muscles act as stabilizers holding our joints together properly to improve movement efficiency, prevent injury, and promote stability in every movement we make throughout the day, from getting out of bed, to walking, to the work we do on site. Having a strong core is important, as it allows our bodies to stand or sit for long periods of time without pain, reduces stress on our joints, keeps our bodies aligned to minimize wear and tear on our bodies, lets us use the strength in our legs and arms, and stabilizes our lower back and hips to prevent injury.

 

Increases Productivity

Exercise during the workday has been researched and proven to improve job performance. Studies show that after exercising, participants return to work more tolerant of themselves and more forgiving of their colleagues. Their work performance was consistently higher, as shown by better time management and improved mental sharpness. Companies also benefit from these programs as exercising at work results in fewer sick days, better attendance, and a more cohesive work unit between the employees.
